How I Celebrate Holidays with My Family

Holidays are very important for my family. They give us a chance to spend time together, relax, talk, laugh, and enjoy special moments. I like holidays because on these days our home becomes warmer, brighter, and happier.

My family celebrates different holidays during the year. We usually celebrate New Year, birthdays, Easter, and other important days. My favourite holiday is New Year because it feels magical and special. Before the holiday, we clean and decorate our house. We put up a beautiful Christmas tree, hang colourful lights, and decorate the rooms. Everyone helps, so the preparation is fun too.

On the holiday, my mother usually cooks delicious food. She makes salads, meat, cakes, and other tasty dishes. Sometimes I help her in the kitchen. I can cut vegetables, decorate the table, or wash the dishes. My father also helps. He may buy food, prepare drinks, or decorate the house. I think it is nice when all family members do something together.

In the evening, we sit at the festive table. We talk about our plans, remember good moments from the past year, and wish each other happiness, health, and success. We often watch holiday programmes or films on TV. At midnight, we congratulate each other, give presents, and take photos. I always feel very happy at this moment because my family is near me.

Birthdays are also very special in our family. When someone has a birthday, we try to make this person feel loved and important. We buy or make presents, prepare a cake, and invite relatives or close friends. We sing a birthday song and say kind words. I enjoy birthdays because they are full of smiles and good emotions.

Sometimes we celebrate holidays outside the house. For example, we may go for a walk, visit our grandparents, go to a café, or spend time in nature. But for me, the most important thing is not the place. The most important thing is that we are together.

I think family holidays are wonderful because they make people closer. During holidays, we forget about problems and enjoy simple things: good food, warm conversations, jokes, presents, and family traditions. I love celebrating holidays with my family because these moments become happy memories.
