9. Use the correct participle, -ing or -ed, of the verbs in brackets to complete the gaps. -ing participles describe what something was like. The flight was tiring. (What was the flight like? Tiring) -ed participles describe how someone felt. We were tired. (How did we feel? Tired). 1. He decided to participate in the expedition and he was .... (EXCITE) 2. The photos he sent us are .... 2. The photos he sent us are amazing.
3. He was exhausted but pleased with the result.
4. It was disappointing to see the conditions the animals lived in.
5. They were interested in the project.
Why: use -ed when we say how a person feels, and -ing when we describe what something is like.
