a) Circle the word with a different sound.
key, country, K, cook, cigarette, coffee
girl, get, Germany, garden, go
shower, she, fish, glasses, Russia
b) Practise saying the words.

a) The words with a different consonant sound are:

• cigarette — the letter c sounds like \(s\), but in the other words the sound is \(k\).
• Germany — the letter g sounds like \(dʒ\), but in the other words the sound is \(g\).
• glasses — it has the sound \(z\), while the other words have the sound \(ʃ\).

b) Practise saying each group aloud and pay attention to the first consonant sound or the main consonant sound in the word.
