Last Saturday my friend and I played chess after school. We sat at a small table and put the black and white pieces on the board. I chose the white pieces, so I made the first move. At first I moved my pawns too quickly and lost one of them. My friend smiled, but I did not give up. I protected my king and tried to use my knights. After a few moves, I captured his queen by mistake because he did not see my bishop. The game became very exciting and we both thought carefully. In the end, I won with checkmate. Chess is a quiet game, but it teaches patience and smart thinking.
