A Strange Night

Last Friday evening, my friend Tom and I decided to watch a horror film at my house. My parents were visiting our neighbours, so we were alone. At first, everything was funny. We ate pizza, laughed at the actors and said that we were not afraid of anything.

Then the lights suddenly went out. The room became completely dark. Tom stopped laughing. I took my phone, but the battery was almost dead. At that moment we heard a strange noise from the kitchen. It sounded like someone was slowly opening a cupboard.

“Maybe it is your cat,” Tom whispered.

“I don’t have a cat,” I answered.

We stood near the door and listened. The noise became louder. I counted to three, opened the kitchen door and switched on my phone flashlight. Something white jumped at us. Tom screamed, I screamed, and the white thing fell on the floor.

It was only a plastic bag. The window was open, and the wind was moving it.

When my parents came back, they found us sitting in the living room with all the lights on. We never finished the film.
