Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple, Past Continuous.

Present Simple is used for habits, facts and regular actions.

Form: subject + verb. With he, she, it we usually add -s: She plays tennis.

Present Continuous is used for actions happening now or around now.

Form: am/is/are + verb-ing: They are watching TV now.

Past Simple is used for finished actions in the past.

Form: regular verb + -ed or the second form of an irregular verb: We visited London. He went home.

Past Continuous is used for an action that was in progress at a certain moment in the past.

Form: was/were + verb-ing: I was reading at 7 o’clock yesterday.
