Текст:
English is a world language. About 350 million people speak it. It is used as a first language in countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. In other countries it is used as a second language. The English people borrowed words from other languages. Words like alligator and mosquito come from Spanish. Some come from French: hotel, restaurant, picnic. You may also find words from German. Does any of you have a dachshund, poodle or boxer? During your music lessons you sometimes use words from Italian. Do you play the piano or trombone? Lots of words like squash and skunk are from Native Americans' languages.
