5) Past Simple: поставьте предложения в вопросительную и отрицательную формы.

В Past Simple вопрос строится с помощью Did + подлежащее + глагол в начальной форме.
Отрицание: подлежащее + did not (didn’t) + глагол в начальной форме.

   Вопрос: Did they water the plants?
   Отрицание: They didn’t water the plants.

2. She helped in the garden.
   Вопрос: Did she help in the garden?
   Отрицание: She didn’t help in the garden.

3. Lisa used her old dictionary.

   Отрицание: Lisa didn’t use her old dictionary.

4. We started school at half past eight.
   Вопрос: Did we start school at half past eight?
   Отрицание: We didn’t start school at half past eight.

5. Paul and Cathy tidied their room.
   Вопрос: Did Paul and Cathy tidy their room?
   Отрицание: Paul and Cathy didn’t tidy their room.

Обратите внимание: после did / didn’t окончание -ed у смыслового глагола исчезает:
watered → did water, helped → did help, tidied → did tidy.

6) Present Simple или Past Simple: поставьте глагол в нужную форму.

1. You arrived in England last week.
   Past Simple, потому что есть маркер last week — «на прошлой неделе».

2. My brother studies Russian at university.
   Present Simple, так как речь идет о постоянном факте: мой брат изучает русский язык в университете.
   Для he / she / it к глаголу добавляется -s/-es: study → studies.

3. I phoned you yesterday.
   Past Simple, маркер — yesterday («вчера»).

4. Margo and Alice always plan their holiday together.
   Present Simple, маркер — always («всегда»), то есть речь идет о регулярном действии.

5. Tom invited us to his birthday party two days ago.
   Past Simple, маркер — two days ago («два дня назад»).

6. The children often carry the books to the classroom.
   Present Simple, маркер — often («часто»). Подлежащее the children — множественное число, поэтому используется carry без окончания -s.

7. We finished the exam at half past three.
   Past Simple, потому что речь идет о завершенном действии в определенный момент в прошлом.

8. I always chat to Jane about films and fashion.
   Present Simple, маркер — always («всегда»), то есть действие происходит регулярно.
