4. Why is it not safe to be in direct sunlight in certain places?
Ответы на вопрос
Being in direct sunlight is not safe in certain places because the sunlight can be much stronger and more harmful there. In areas close to the equator, at high altitudes, or in places where the ozone layer is thinner, more ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the Sun reaches people. Too much UV radiation can cause sunburn, damage the skin, increase the risk of skin cancer, and harm the eyes.
Direct sunlight can also be dangerous in very hot places because it can quickly raise body temperature and cause dehydration, heat exhaustion, or heatstroke. Snow, sand, and water can reflect sunlight and increase exposure, making it easier to get burned even when the temperature does not feel extremely high.
For these reasons, people in such places should limit time in direct sunlight, especially during the strongest midday hours, and protect themselves with clothing, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
