My Favourite Holiday Is New Year

There are many wonderful holidays in the world, such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Valentine's Day and New Year. Every holiday has its own traditions and customs. People celebrate holidays because they bring happiness, joy and positive emotions into our lives.

My favourite holiday is New Year. I love it because it is a magical time full of presents, surprises, beautiful decorations and family traditions.

When Do We Celebrate New Year?

New Year is celebrated on the night of December 31st to January 1st. People all over the world celebrate this holiday in different ways. It is a time when we say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new one.

For me, New Year is one of the happiest and most exciting days of the year.

Preparing for the Holiday

My family starts preparing for New Year several days before the celebration. We clean and decorate our house with colourful lights, garlands and beautiful ornaments.

One of my favourite traditions is decorating the New Year tree. We put colourful balls, shining decorations and a bright star on top of it. The tree makes our home look wonderful and festive.

We also buy presents for our relatives and friends. I enjoy choosing presents because I like making other people happy.

How My Family Celebrates New Year

On December 31st, my family prepares a special holiday dinner. We cook delicious dishes, make salads, bake cakes and put different sweets and fruits on the table.

In the evening, we gather around the table, talk, laugh and remember the best moments of the past year.

We usually watch interesting films, listen to music and play games together.

At midnight, we wish each other a Happy New Year. We exchange presents, make wishes and hope that the coming year will bring happiness, good health and success.

Sometimes we go outside to enjoy the festive atmosphere and admire the beautiful fireworks.

Why Do I Love This Holiday?
