The words "home sweet home" come from a well-known song "Home sweet home" written about 190 years ago by Henry Bishop (music) and John Howard Payne (lyrics). It was very popular during the American Civil War. When the soldiers on both sides were singing this song, they forgot they were enemies. The song tells about lovely days in the old family cottage, about the father's smile and the mother's love.
