I've read a book but I _________ (not want) to see the film.
Help with English. Here you must choose present simple or be going to.

The correct answer is: I don't want.

Full sentence: I've read a book, but I don't want to see the film.

We use Present Simple here because want is a state verb. It describes a feeling or wish, not a planned action. Be going to would be used with an action, for example: I'm not going to see the film.
