Dear Rector,

I am writing to ask for your permission to set up an English Debating Club at UNEC.

The main aim of the club is to help students improve their English speaking skills, learn to express their opinions clearly, and develop confidence in public speaking. Debates will also help students think critically, listen to different points of view, and work as a team.

We plan to hold meetings once a week after classes. During the meetings, students will discuss interesting educational, social, and cultural topics in English. The club will be open to all students who want to practise English and take part in debates.
