Oleg said: “My room is on the second floor.” 7. He said: “I am sure she will ring me up when she is back in St. Petersburg.” 8. Misha said: “I saw them at my parent’s house last year.” 9. He said: “I haven’t seen my cousin today.” 10. “I don’t go to this shop very often,” she said. 11. The mother said: “The children are in the nursery, doctor.” 12. “I have no time for lunch today,” said the boy to his mother. 13. “You speak English very well,” said the woman to me. 14. My brother said to me: “I am going to become a doctor.” 15. My uncle said to us: “I buy several newspapers every day.”

Упражнение. Передайте повествовательные предложения в косвенной речи (Reported Speech)

1. He said: “I have just received a letter from my uncle.”

Ответ: He said that he had just received a letter from his uncle.

Перевод: Он сказал, что только что получил письмо от своего дяди.

2. “I am going to the theatre tonight,” he said to me.

Ответ: He told me that he was going to the theatre that night.

Перевод: Он сказал мне, что собирается пойти в театр в тот вечер.

3. Mike said: “I spoke to Mr. Brown this morning.”

Ответ: Mike said that he had spoken to Mr. Brown that morning.

Перевод: Майк сказал, что разговаривал с мистером Брауном тем утром.

4. He said to her: “I shall do it today if I have time.”

Ответ: He told her that he would do it that day if he had time.

Перевод: Он сказал ей, что сделает это в тот день, если у него будет время.

5. I said to them: “I can give you my uncle’s address.”

Ответ: I told them that I could give them my uncle’s address.

Перевод: Я сказал им, что могу дать им адрес моего дяди.

6. Oleg said: “My room is on the second floor.”

Ответ: Oleg said that his room was on the second floor.

Перевод: Олег сказал, что его комната находится на втором этаже.

7. He said: “I am sure she will ring me up when she is back in St. Petersburg.”

Ответ: He said that he was sure she would ring him up when she was back in St. Petersburg.

Перевод: Он сказал, что уверен, что она позвонит ему, когда вернётся в Санкт-Петербург.

8. Misha said: “I saw them at my parent’s house last year.”

Ответ: Misha said that he had seen them at his parent's house the year before.

Перевод: Миша сказал, что видел их в доме своего родителя в предыдущем году.

9. He said: “I haven’t seen my cousin today.”

Ответ: He said that he hadn't seen his cousin that day.

Перевод: Он сказал, что не видел своего двоюродного брата (или сестру) в тот день.

10. “I don’t go to this shop very often,” she said.

Ответ: She said that she didn't go to that shop very often.

Перевод: Она сказала, что не очень часто ходит в тот магазин.

11. The mother said: “The children are in the nursery, doctor.”

Ответ: The mother told the doctor that the children were in the nursery.

Перевод: Мать сказала доктору, что дети находятся в детской комнате.

12. “I have no time for lunch today,” said the boy to his mother.

Ответ: The boy told his mother that he had no time for lunch that day.

Перевод: Мальчик сказал матери, что у него нет времени на обед в тот день.

13. “You speak English very well,” said the woman to me.

Ответ: The woman told me that I spoke English very well.

Перевод: Женщина сказала мне, что я очень хорошо говорю по-английски.

14. My brother said to me: “I am going to become a doctor.”

Ответ: My brother told me that he was going to become a doctor.

Перевод: Мой брат сказал мне, что собирается стать врачом.

15. My uncle said to us: “I buy several newspapers every day.”

Ответ: My uncle told us that he bought several newspapers every day.

Перевод: Мой дядя сказал нам, что покупает несколько газет каждый день.

Объяснение правил перевода прямой речи в косвенную

При переводе повествовательных предложений из прямой речи в косвенную необходимо соблюдать несколько правил.

1. Согласование времён

Если глагол, вводящий косвенную речь, стоит в прошедшем времени (said, told), время глагола в придаточном предложении обычно изменяется следующим образом:

Например:

  • I am going → he was going (№ 2).

  • I spoke → he had spoken (№ 3).

  • I have received → he had received (№ 1).

  • She will ring → she would ring (№ 7).

2. Изменение местоимений

Личные и притяжательные местоимения изменяются в зависимости от того, кто произносил слова и кому они были адресованы.

Например:

  • I → he / she;

  • my → his / her;
