Task 1. Hobbies

1. What types of hobbies do you know?

There are many different types of hobbies. For example, some people enjoy playing sports, dancing, swimming or cycling. Others prefer creative hobbies such as drawing, painting, singing or playing musical instruments. Reading books, collecting stamps, playing computer games and taking photos are also popular hobbies.

2. Is it really important to have a hobby? Why (not)?

Yes, I think having a hobby is really important because it helps people relax and enjoy their free time. Hobbies can reduce stress and make our lives more interesting. They also help us develop new skills, become more creative and make new friends. In my opinion, everyone should have at least one hobby.

3. What hobbies do your family members have?

My family members have different hobbies. My mother enjoys cooking and reading books, especially detective stories. My father likes fishing, cycling and watching football matches. My grandparents enjoy gardening and spending time outdoors. As for me, I like listening to music, playing computer games and going for walks with my friends.

4. Do you know any unusual hobbies?

Yes, I know several unusual hobbies. For example, some people collect old coins, unusual stones or even train tickets. Others enjoy making miniature houses, creating sculptures from ice or taking photos of abandoned buildings. I think unusual hobbies are interesting because they show how creative people can be.

5. Can learning foreign languages be a hobby?

Yes, of course! I believe learning foreign languages can be a very interesting and useful hobby. It helps people communicate with foreigners, learn about different cultures and understand songs and films in other languages. For example, I enjoy learning English because I want to travel around the world and make friends from different countries.

6. What hobby would you recommend to a teenager?

I would recommend doing sports or learning to play a musical instrument. Sports help teenagers stay healthy, become stronger and make new friends. Playing a musical instrument develops creativity, patience and concentration. Personally, I think teenagers should choose hobbies that make them happy and help them discover their talents.

1. How old are you?

I am fifteen years old. I am a school student, and I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I also like learning new things and trying different activities in my free time.

2. What is your favourite day of the week?

My favourite day of the week is Saturday because I don't have to go to school. I can wake up later than usual and spend more time doing things I enjoy. I often meet my friends, watch films or play computer games. Saturday is the best day for me because I can relax and forget about schoolwork for a while.

3. When do you usually wake up at the weekend?

At the weekend, I usually wake up at about nine or ten o'clock in the morning. I don't like getting up early because I have to wake up at seven o'clock on school days. After waking up, I usually have breakfast, check my phone and make plans for the day.

4. How do you usually spend your weekends?

I usually spend my weekends with my family and friends. On Saturdays, I often go for a walk, play computer games, listen to music or watch interesting films. Sometimes my family and I go shopping or visit our relatives. On Sundays, I usually do my homework, prepare for the next school week and relax at home.

5. What sport or hobby do you think you might like to try in the future?

In the future, I would like to try playing the guitar. I love music, and I think it would be amazing to play my favourite songs myself. Learning to play the guitar could also help me become more creative and confident. Besides, I could play music with my friends and maybe even start a small band one day.
