1) Two Verbs Rule, Part 2: after a modal verb, use the base form of the next verb without to. Example: She can swim.

2) Golden Rule, Part 3: after a preposition, use a noun, pronoun, or a verb with -ing. Example: He is good at drawing.

3) Future in the Past shows an action that was future from a point in the past. Use would + verb. Example: I knew that she would come.

4) Five non-continuous verbs: know, like, want, believe, understand.

5) Five Past Continuous time markers: while, when, at 5 o’clock yesterday, all day yesterday, from 3 to 5 yesterday.

6) Future Continuous: will be + verb-ing. Example: This time tomorrow, I will be studying.

7) Modal verbs: use a modal + base verb; do not use to after a modal; do not add -s in the third person. Example: He must go.

8) Forms of to be: am, is, are, was, were. They are different because they can be the main verb and make questions and negatives without do/does/did. Example: Is she happy?

9) There is/are: affirmative — There is a book on the table.; negative — There are not any books on the table.; question — Are there any books on the table?

10) For a short adjective, add -er for the comparative form and -est for the superlative form. Example: small — smaller — the smallest.
