My Rights and Responsibilities

Every person has rights and responsibilities. My rights help me feel safe, respected and free. For example, I have the right to get an education, express my opinion and live in a safe environment. I also have the right to rest and spend time with my family and friends.

However, rights always go together with responsibilities. I must respect other people and their opinions, even if I do not agree with them. At school, I should follow the rules, do my homework and be polite to teachers and classmates. At home, I help my parents and keep my room clean.

I think that being responsible is very important. If everyone knows both their rights and duties, people can live together peacefully and make society better.
