Here’s the completed story with the correct forms of the verbs filled in:

I was left a little money and a collection of old books by my Uncle Albert when he passed away last year. When the books were delivered, I went through them to decide which ones to keep and which ones should be given away or sold. Then I came across a book on Greek mythology which had been published in 1892. It looked like a very rare and valuable book, but the problem was that it did not seem to have belonged to my uncle at all! It had been borrowed from London University Library. A few months later, I went to London on business. I decided that the best thing I could do was to return the book to London University Library. I went to the library and gave it to the librarian, who looked very worried. Uncle Albert had borrowed the book in 1923 and according to their records there was a £4000 fine! That was the same amount my uncle had left me! Fortunately, they said the huge fine would be canceled now that I had returned the book to its owner. I felt so relieved.

This story highlights a funny coincidence where the fine amount matched the inheritance, and it's a great example of doing the right thing by returning what didn’t belong to you!
