Kolobok is a traditional character from a popular Russian folktale, often known as "The Little Round Bun" or "The Runaway Bun" in English adaptations. In the story, Kolobok is a small, round bun made of dough. After being baked by an elderly couple, he unexpectedly comes to life and escapes, rolling away to avoid being eaten. He’s a simple character with no arms or legs, just a round body, often depicted with a smiling face. His adventurous spirit leads him through encounters with various animals like a hare, a wolf, a bear, and a fox, who all want to eat him.

Kolobok’s personality is quite cheeky and overconfident. As he rolls away from each animal, he sings a little song, boasting about how he escaped from others before. Despite his cleverness in evading danger, his pride eventually leads to his downfall. When he meets the fox, she tricks him by pretending she’s hard of hearing, asking Kolobok to sit on her nose and sing his song closer. Trusting her, Kolobok complies, and the fox quickly eats him, ending his journey.

The tale of Kolobok is often told as a cautionary story about overconfidence and trusting the wrong people. It's very similar to other folktales worldwide, such as the "Gingerbread Man" story in Western cultures, where a baked good comes to life and meets a similar fate.
