SEASONS AND WEATHER Winter, spring, summer and autumn are the seasons of the year. Winter months are December, January and February. The weather is cold. It snows often. The days are short and the nights are long. You can see snow everywhere. The rivers and lakes freeze and children can go skating and skiing. March, April and May are spring months. It is a very nice season. The weather is fine, it is warm. The snow melts, the sun shines brightly every day. There are many green trees in the streets, in the parks and gardens. Apple trees are in blossom and there is sweet smell in the air. The birds come back from hot countries and make their nests. Then comes summer. The summer months are June, July and August. It is usually hot. The days are long and the nights are short. There are great many flowers in the streets and gardens. The flowers are blue, red, orange and they decorate the streets very much. The pupils have holidays and enjoy their summer time. We have the longest day and the shortest night of the year in June. You see strawberries in the forest and in the gardens. We pick fruit and vegetables in the gardens. September, October and November are autumn months. It is cool often. The weather is changeable. It rains often. The days become shorter.
