14. Read Devon's interview. Complete with the correct form of the words in parentheses.
Devon Lee is a student at Oak School. He plays the violin in the school orchestra. He plays 1 beautifully (beautiful) now, but he didn't play very 2 (good) two years ago. We talked to Devon about it, and this is what he said.
Interviewer: You play the violin very 3 (good), Devon. Was it always easy for you?
Devon: No, it wasn't. Two years ago, I played very 4 (bad).
Interviewer: Really? Tell me about it.
Devon: The teacher asked me to play in a school 5 concert when the other violin player moved to a different school. I was very worried because the other player played 6 (beautiful) than I did.
Interviewer: What happened?
Devon: The kids in the orchestra helped me practice for two weeks. They were great. I played very 7 (good) at the concert. Those kids are my best friends now.
Interviewer: Wow. That's a great story, Devon. We all know friends can be a big help!

Interviewer: You play the violin very well, Devon. Was it always easy for you?
Devon: No, it wasn't. Two years ago, I played very badly.
Interviewer: Really? Tell me about it.
Devon: The teacher asked me to play in a school concert when the other violin player moved to a different school. I was very worried because the other player played more beautifully than I did.
Interviewer: What happened?
Devon: The kids in the orchestra helped me practice for two weeks. They were great. I played very well at the concert. Those kids are my best friends now.

Здесь well и badly — наречия, потому что они описывают, как Девон играл. Форма more beautifully используется для сравнения: другой музыкант играл красивее, чем Девон.
