I believe everyone needs to watch the news or read about them in the newspaper. Teenagers are no exception. When I was in high school, I had to do so many reports on current events that I hated it. Finally I realized that it was for my own good. If you have opinions on current events, you can discuss them. Listen everyone. My last project in high school was to write about five things that matter to me and what my opinions were on them. Everybody wrote about things such as terrorism, racism, the war, global warming, the environment, poverty, etc., which almost everyone knows at least something about. When you get older, you learn things about the country and the world, which make you a better person; you go and protest against terrorism, or start a peace rally against the war. Many good things can come out of knowing current events. What you do with that knowledge makes you who you are. So, I believe it's very important to know what's going on in the world.

The text expresses the opinion that teenagers should follow the news and learn about current events because this knowledge helps them become more informed and responsible people.

The author believes that knowing what is happening in the world is important because it allows people to form their own opinions and discuss important issues with others. Although the author disliked writing reports about current events in high school, later they understood that these assignments were useful because they helped develop awareness of problems such as terrorism, racism, war, global warming, environmental issues, and poverty.

According to the author, learning about events in the country and around the world makes people more mature and encourages them to take action. For example, people who understand global problems may participate in protests, peace movements, or other activities that can help improve society. The author thinks that knowledge itself is powerful, but what people do with this knowledge defines their character.

I agree with the author’s opinion because teenagers are future citizens who will make decisions about society. Following the news helps young people understand different viewpoints, become more critical thinkers, and take part in solving problems. However, it is also important to choose reliable sources of information and think carefully about what we read or hear. Knowing current events helps people become more aware, active, and responsible members of society.
