Dear Moira,

Thank you for your letter. It was interesting to read about your Irish stew. I think cooking is useful and creative. I like cooking simple dishes, especially pancakes and salads, because it is nice to make something tasty for my family.

A traditional Russian meal can be different, but it often includes soup, a main dish and tea. For example, people may eat borsch, cutlets with potatoes, pancakes or pies. Russians do eat borsch and kasha, but not every day. It depends on the family and their habits.

You wrote that you are going to visit your grandparents in Brighton. How often do you visit them? What do you usually do together? Do your grandparents like cooking too?

Best wishes,

Alex
